"Which is a unstable girl who can barely find out who she is or a good mother?" Azrael asked, wishing she could actually cry.




"Wow... that was very.... dead of you." Allison said blinking.

"Did I say that?" Cedric asked. "All his life he's only known you to be his mother. I can't hurt both of you or confuse him. It's a hard decision but I think the best thing for Masen is for things to stay the way they've been."

Markus raised an eyebrow.

Azrael nodded then smiled, she hugged Masen, "Oh Masen! You get to stay with Mommy!"




Allison sighed, "Markus... you have like... no personality now, where's the pissed off Markus I know and love?" Allison knocked on his head.

Masen looked at Azrael like she'd lost her mind and squirmed out of her grasp. He patted her on the cheek and ran to Cedric.

Markus looked at Allison. "I have no life anymore." He said.

"Markus, you got what you wished for." Allison replied, "Your not a hunter anymore, you can do what ever you want, just with blood drinking."




Azrael laughed.

"I never wished for this. I'm damned, Allison." Markus hissed.

Masen giggled as Cedric picked him up. Cedric ran his hand through Masen's curls. He looked over the top of his head at Azrael. "I'm in a tough spot at the moment though, Azrael."

"How so?" Azrael asked.



"Whats so wrong with blood drinking? And just don't get killed, then you won't be damned." Allison replied, "There's Blood Bank ya'know. Cedric had to actually Kill stuff to relieve himself."

"She wants him." Cedric said. "Her appearance here complicates things. It would be too confusing to tell Masen who she is. And she'll be upset if we don't."

Markus laughed humorlessly.

Azrael sighed, "Yes.." Azrael replied, "She should just butt out."




Allison looked at Markus, a tad offended, "What's so funny?"

"On one hand she has every right to be involved in his life. On the other hand she doesn't." Cedric sighed. "We should leave as soon as possible."


Markus raised his eyebrow. "Nothing's funny and yet everything is funny."

"Well she can visit, but he's my son." Azrael replied, "No, I want to stay."




"You lost me." Allison replied.

Cedric sighed. "Alright." He said.

Markus sighed. "I lost me too." He said.

Allison hugged Markus, "Don't go insane." She whispered, "I miss my brother."



Azrael looked at Masen and made silly faces at him.

"Insane?" Markus said flatly. "Allison, I never was sane."

Masen giggled and buried his face in Cedric's shirt.

Allison frowned, "Don't say that." Allison muttered. She looked up into his bright red eyes, "You can get through this."
